William Nicholas Corey, born on October 4, 1936, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family members, on November 6, 2024, at the age of 88 in Cincinnati, OH. A devoted husband, father, and a deeply committed Catholic, Bill's life was marked by his passion for his Faith and his active involvement in Pro-Life activities.
Survived by his beloved wife, Mary C. (McHale) Corey, Bill's legacy continues through his children Joseph T., John F. (Mary Beth), Ruth A. (James) Davies, W. Nicholas (Keli), Catherine M. (John) Rewwer, Margaret E. (Geoffrey) Eisenacher, Maria M. (Scott) Rogers, Barbara M. (Scott) Fryman, foster-son Scott Corey, and 29 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Charles A. (Beth) Corey, sister Mary C. Palmoski, brothers John M. (JenJen) Corey and Richard J. (Cindy) Corey . He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank J. and Ruth M. (Murray) Corey, and his brothers Frank J. Corey and Frederick C. Corey.
Bill was an alumnus of Newton High School, class of 1954. He attended Boston College, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1959, followed by a Master's Degree in School Administration from the University of Massachusetts in 1966. His commitment to education was evident throughout his career, by his serving as a teacher and principal in various states and territories. In 1981 he moved to Cincinnati and became Director of International Development for the Couple to Couple League. In this position, until his retirement in 2003, he trained couples in the US, Latin America, Europe, and Africa to teach Natural Family Planning to other couples in their respective areas.
He served in the US Army Reserve from 1956 to 1962.
Bill was a long-time member of St. Antoninus Catholic Church in Cincinnati, and more recently attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and commitments.
An exceptional storyteller, Bill delighted in sharing tales with his children, grandchildren, and their friends, earning him the title of the world's best storyteller.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 11th from 5-7 PM at Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45233. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 12th, at 11 AM, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 810 Neeb Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45233.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society - OLV conference, 810 Neeb Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45233, honoring Bill's commitment to charity and community service.
