Timothy A. Thoroughman, 85, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025. He will be remembered for his kind spirit, strong character, sense of humor, and the lasting impact on those who knew him.
Timothy lived his life with a deep love for his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren, whom he cherished greatly. A true storyteller at heart, he delighted in sharing memories and tales that brought laughter and connection to every gathering. He enjoyed celebrating life’s moments - both big and small - and was often the heart of any gathering. Known for his sense of humor and gregarious nature, Timothy had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcome and at ease.
He was born on January 13, 1940 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Joe and Margaret (Schmidt) Thoroughman. He was a graduate of Portsmouth High School class of 1958 and Ohio University class of 1966 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He held various positions throughout his life including County Engineer of Scioto County and University Engineer at Wright State University.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents Joe and Margaret (Schmidt) Thoroughman, and his brother Tony Thoroughman. He is survived by his loving wife Alberta “Allie” Thoroughman; his daughters, Leigh Ann Annis (Jeff) and Cheri Schilling (Dan); his stepdaughter, Michelle Nieman (Cliff); his stepson Jason Vollmer (Michele); his cherished grandchildren, Kyle (Courtney), Brett and Evan Annis, Caleb (Heather), Joshua, David, Isaac, Jeremiah, Jesse and Noah Schilling; William and Michael Nieman; Evan, Jacob, Isabella and Brielle Vollmer; along with extended family members and dear friends who will continue to honor his memory.
Services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. A visitation will take place at Radel Funeral Home from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM followed by a service at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Village Life Outreach Project, Hospice of Cincinnati (4310 Cooper Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45242), or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
