Thomas F. Newcomb

Thomas “Tom” Francis Newcomb, 88, of Delhi, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Bayley Senior Care. He joins his beloved wife, Patricia “Pat” (Costello) Newcomb, his parents, Thomas and Mary (Oehler) Newcomb, his sister Jackie (Newcomb) Voss, brother Robert “Bobby” Newcomb, and his youngest daughter, Barbie, who preceded him in heaven.

Tom was an avid fisherman and golfer—teaching his kids and grandkids how to catch and clean fish, and earning more holes-in-one than is reasonable for an amateur. He had a long and distinguished career in the Cincinnati Fire Department before retiring in 1988 as a Captain. There are still firefighters in service today who were trained by him and are surprised to be working with his grandson.

His legacy includes:

• Three surviving daughters: Vivian (Kevin) Ryan, Pamela (Paul Reid) Basler, and Margie (Joe) Ventre
• 11 surviving grandchildren: Cindy (Chris Pastars) Farruggia, Frank (Leah Kritzer) Farruggia, Jessica (Sean Barry) Farruggia, Amy (Chad) Montgomery, Jonathan (Heather) Basler, Jody (Sean) Arrington, Michaela Rawsthorn, Bryan Stockelman, Lena (Joe) Faillace, Fr. Michael Ventre, and Mia Ventre. 24 great-grandchildren, too many to name, but all of whom he adored. 1 great-great-grandchild, born shortly after his passing

Tom is also survived by his sisters, Connie (Newcomb) Fullerton, Judy (Newcomb) Rebel, and brothers, Ron (Carolyn) Newcomb, Don (Suzy) Newcomb, and Joe Newcomb, along with his Costello sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. His memory will carry on for generations in the hearts of countless people who loved him.

The celebration of life will take place on September 8, 2025, at St. William’s Church in Price Hill. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by mass at 11:00 a.m. Everyone is also welcome to continue the St. Joseph’s Cemetery for the burial and the celebration at Crowley’s Pub immediately following.
