Ralph R. Schroer
Ralph R. Schroer died peacefully Dec. 3, surrounded by his family. Born Dec. 5, 1934 to Emma and Oliver Schroer of Delhi, he graduated from Elder High School (1953) and earned a horticulture degree from the Ohio State University. Ralph served in the U.S. Army and operated Dornacher Greenhouses for many years with his brother Earl. He was past president of the Cincinnati Flower Growers Association. He later retired from Union Central Life Insurance Co. A longtime parishioner at St. Antoninus Church, Ralph was a member of the Purcell Council of the Knights of Columbus and involved with the St. Vincent DePaul Conference. Ralph was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Elmer Schroer and Earl Schroer, and his son-in-law Doug Tucker. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carol Jean (Dornacher) Schroer; brother Harold Schroer; sons Ralph J. Schroer (Joanna), Gary Schroer (Laura), daughter Rita Tucker, and grandchildren Nicholas Schroer, Alexandra Schroer, Madeline Tucker, Celina Schroer Lilley (Christopher), Matthew Tucker, Caroline Schroer, Michael Tucker, Carl Schroer, and Mary Kate Tucker. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Radel Funeral Home. Visitation will be at St. Antoninus Church, 1500 Linneman Rd., Cincinnati, on Friday, Dec. 9 at 9:30 am, followed by Mass at 10:30 am. Memorial donations can be made in Ralph’s name to the St. Antoninus chapter of the St. Vincent DePaul Conference, online or at the church.
