Michael William “Mike” Rottenberger passed away on February 1, 2026. He was deeply loved by his family and will be forever remembered.Mike was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and strength to those around him.Mike was raised by loving parents, Nancy Ruhe Dittelberger, John Dittelberger, Charles Francis “Frank” Rottenberger Sr., and Judy Rottenberger.He shared a close bond with his sisters, Aimee Benson Labostrie and Melissa Benson Thornton, and is reunited in heaven with his sister, Trina Marie, who passed at birth.He is survived by his siblings, Charles Francis “Frank” Rottenberger Jr., Deborah Marie Wooldridge, and his half-siblings, Ryan Longano, Rachael Messmer, and Lisa Maples.He was preceded in death by his cherished grandparents, Mary “Fran” and Robert “Pop” Rottenberger; Ann and Joe Sala; and Don and Lucella Ruhe, along with his aunt Donna Jean Ruhe.He is also reunited with beloved aunts and uncles who passed before him, including Rhonda Klawitter, Charlie Sala, and Kellie Ruhe.He is survived by many loving aunts and uncles, including Deborah Ann (Debbie) Hays and Marion Hays, Robert Allen (Sue) Rottenberger, Peggy (Sonny) Schulthies, Dan (Sue) Ruhe, Joe (Debbie) Ruhe, Mike (Becky) Ruhe, Salvatore “Sam” (Melinda) Sala, and Scott Sala.He leaves behind a legacy through his children, whom he loved deeply: Michael William Rottenberger Jr., Le’Anna Marie Rottenberger, Johnathon Michael Rottenberger (Christina), and Kristen Nicole Rottenberger. He also raised his stepdaughter, Jessica Lynn France, as his own.Mike was a proud grandfather to Sophia Jade Steinmetz, David Neil Steinmetz, Alexander Jo Steinmetz, Brooklyn Marie Grace, Lyla Ann Rottenberger, Trevor James Unger, and Grayson Reese Rottenberger, who brought him immense joy. He is also reunited with his beloved grandson, Blake Alexander Steinmetz, who passed at 7 months old.He was a beloved uncle to Briana, Myah, Aaron, Dominic, Nathan, and many more, along with numerous nieces and nephews.Mike shared a special bond with his cousin and best friend, Gary Young, along with many other cousins and lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.Mike loved the simple, meaningful things in life, fishing, boating, vacations, and most of all, being surrounded by family and friends. He found joy in cooking and took pride in bringing people together, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.Above all, Mike will be remembered for his love, his love for his children, his grandchildren, and the family he built and held together. His legacy is one of loyalty, strength, and unconditional love.He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A memorial gathering will take place at Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Rd. 45233 on Sunday April 19, 2026 from 2pm until the time of the memorial service at 4pm
