LaVerne S. Wagner

LaVerne S. Wagner of Cincinnati, Ohio, age 93, passed away early Thursday morning, October 22, 2026. She was the loving and beloved wife of the late Thomas Wagner, Sr. and the devoted and beloved mother of her six children who survive her: Karen Kloepfer (John), Thomas (Ann), Steven (Kate), Terrance (Kathryn), Frederick (Julie), and Rick (Lisa). She loved, doted on, and was beloved by her 16 grandchildren (Lauren, Rebecca, Eric, Liz, Kevin, Adam, Nicholas, Collin, Jarrett, Kendra, Ava, Mitchell, Alex, Andrew, Austin, Aaron),16 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was a loving and beloved aunt and great-aunt.

LaVerne grew up in Covington, Kentucky and attended Holmes High School where she was an enthusiastic baton majorette. After high school, she married her sweetheart Tom Wagner, and together they raised their six children. As a devoted mother and wife, her focus was always on her family while she created a warm and loving home for her children growing up.

LaVerne’s greatest joy came from her family. She was a proud and loving matriarch who never missed a chance to share in any family activity. She constantly attended her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s recitals, concerts and sports events. She never missed a birthday, anniversary, or holiday with her greeting cards to family and friends. Her sturdy spirit was a precious blend of social butterfly, abundant love, respect, and flair.

As LaVerne grew older, she exemplified active aging and the joy of life, continuing her lifelong passion for dancing with the Dancing Grandmas on Tap, performing at various community venues and festivals well into her eighties. She found friendship anywhere she went. A true lady, her heart overflowed with love of people. Her knowledge of those around her was broad, infusing every conversation with love and preserving strong family bonds.

LaVerne held a deep faith, leaving an indelible mark of hope, charity, and grace for all who knew her. A principled and devout believer, she faced life's challenges secure in the knowledge of God's love and grace.

LaVerne is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy, and Dorothy’s husband, Jim, and by her brother, Carl. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Pat.
