Joy (Schutte) Ashcraft, a beloved wife, mother, Grammy, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on May 24th at the age of 65. She was born in Cincinnati to the late Robert and Alma Schutte. Joy was a wonderful wife to Dave Ashcraft, a loving mother to Kaitlin (Andy Bass) Ashcraft, Haileigh (Will) El-Fakir, Cassidy (Frank Isadore) Ashcraft, and Shelby (David Weiskittel) Ashcraft. She was also a devoted grammy to Liam, Harper and Rosalia. Joy is also survived by her Brother Lon (Michelle) Schutte and Candi (the late John) Scherz, numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Joy is known for her kindness, positivity, strength and her ability to always put the needs of others first. Joy worked until she became a mom and was able to stay home and take care of her girls. However, she was a lot more than just a mom, she was a homeroom mom, a soccer mom, a dance mom, a cheerleader, a theater mom and the list goes on. She was also an avid animal lover, she had pets from childhood until recent years. Her main focus shifted the day she became a grammy. She loved her grand babies with everything she had, and they were her top priority, and had anything and everything they could ever want.
