With gratitude for a life well lived we celebrate James “Jim” H. Greer. Jim passed away Tuesday September 15th in Cincinnati Ohio at the age of 94. Born on May 24th, 1932.James was Preceded in death by his son James “Jamie” Greer. He married Betty Jane (née Gosser) in December 1955. During their nearly 71 years of marriage, they lovingly raised five children: Faith (Emil) Derminio, John (Sandy) Greer, Hope (Gary) Kohls, and Laurin (Tim) Arnold. Devoted Grandfather to Russ (Kristi) Keyes, James (Amanda) Greer, Blake (Nicole) Keyes, Ian (Emily) Steidel, Christy (Derek) Pennington, Kelsey (Travis) Curd, Kyle (Lindsay) Steidel, Katie (Ryan) Looney, Emily (Brandon) Preston, Hunter (Taylor Krupinski) Kohls. He was known as “Pops” to everyone including his 28 great-grandchildren which brought him so much joy. He never lost count and they loved him dearly. James proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean War; he was one of the infamous Frozen Chosen. He is the recipient of the Purple Heart Medal, the Presidential unit award Medal, two Silver Stars as well as a host of other medals. He retired from a long and successful career at Monsanto Company.
Services will be held at Radel Funeral home 650 Neeb Road from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Aloysius on the Ohio September 22nd , at 11:00 AM.
