Gary D. Langenbrunner

Friend to many, father of two, and stranger to none, Gary Langenbrunner, age 69, of Cincinnati, OH passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 3, 2024. Gary was born and raised in Delhi, Ohio to Margaret “Marge” Langenbrunner (née Harris) and the late Robert “Bob” Langenbrunner. Growing up, Gary had a zest for life, a clever wit, and an unmatched sense of humor, amassing a large and strong group of friends at Our Lady of Victory School, Elder High School, and the University of Dayton whom he kept for the entirety of his life.

Gary is preceded in death by his father, Bob Langenbrunner, and leaves behind his 102-year-old mother, Marge Langenbrunner, his two daughters, Dana Langenbrunner (Kelsey Niehauser) and AbbyRose (Jeff) Handley, his ex-wife, Donna Langenbrunner, his two brothers, Jack (Tatiana) Langenbrunner, and Rick (Gayle) Langenbrunner, his sister Peggy Hendricks, his brother-in-law, Mike (Karen) Schachleiter, and his sister-in-law, Cindy Starkey. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews: Kelly Langenbrunner, Katie Saxton, Lindsey (Matt) Nortman, Nick Hendricks, Emily (Zach) VanHook, Julie Schachleiter (Ryan Watson), Nick Schachleiter, Jenna Starkey, Greg (Amber) Starkey, Katie (Chris) Antoline, Brian Hammrick, and Kristen Hammrick.

A visitation service will be held at Radel Funeral Home (650 Neeb Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45233) on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Victory Church (810 Neeb Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45233) at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Louisville Lightning basketball team would be appreciated. An avid basketball player, Gary played and coached basketball throughout his life. A team for wheelchair users that was developed, in part, by one of his former players, the Louisville Lightning provides opportunities for children with physical disabilities to play competitive basketball.
