Donald "Andy" C. Andres Sr.

Donald C. “Andy” Andres, 87, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025.

Born on July 15, 1938, on Cincinnati’s west side to the late Edward and Hazel Andres, Don was a 1956 graduate of Elder High School, where he played both baseball and football. He went on to attend Xavier University.

Don joined the Cincinnati Police Division in May 1961 and proudly served the city for nearly three decades. He achieved the rank of lieutenant before his retirement in July 1990. Throughout his career, Don spent much of his time in District 3, with additional assignments in Districts 1 and 4, the Chief’s Office, and the Traffic Section.

Don was a devoted husband to Rose Andres and a proud father to Don Andres Jr. (Robin), Jeff Andres, and the late Scott Andres. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Dave Dabbelt (Kathy), as well as many nieces and a nephew.

He will be remembered for his dedication to family, his commitment to public service, and the kindness he showed to everyone he met.

Services will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2025. A visitation will take place at Radel Funeral Home from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM followed by a service at 1:00 PM. A celebration of life will take place at Jim and Jacks.
