It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Betty (Cromer) Butcher, age 88, who died on June 2, 2026. Betty is survived by her 2 loving daughters: Victoria Lockwood and Laura Kamphaus. Betty is the proud and cherished grandmother of Mark Lockwood, Grace Kamphaus, Elizabeth Kamphaus, and Emma Kamphaus, all of whom brought great joy to her life. Betty is survived by her siblings: Annette (Cromer) Townsley, Bobbie (Haring) Camm, Hope (Haring) Moore, Rebecca (Cromer) Strotman, and Elmer Cromer. She was preceded in death her husband Thomas J. Butcher; her mother Nannie Haring and father Elmer R. Cromer; her siblings Billy Cromer, Dennis Haring and Julie Wilmoth.

Betty was born on May 12, 1938, in Mt. Vernon, KY, Rockcastle County, Ky. As a young adult Betty moved to Ludlow, KY and starting working side jobs. One side job was working on the Island Queen, where she would meet the love of her life, her husband Tom Butcher. The two would marry after a short courtship and move to Cincinnati, OH to raise a family.

Betty was a long time member of Westside Baptist Church. Through the church, she met and created lifelong friendships. After the closing of Westside Baptist Church, Betty became a member of the First Baptist Church of Bellevue. Betty will be remembered for her colorful outfits and her colorful outlook on life.

Family will host a visitation on Friday June 12 at Radel Funeral Home from 5-7pm

Funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday at Radel Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at St Stephens Cemetery, Ft. Thomas, Ky. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati
