Anthony Mazzaro

Anthony "Tony" Mazzaro died peacefully on July 13, 2026 surrounded by the love and presence of his family and friends. After receiving a six month prognosis when his cancer returned and spread, Tony spent that time making the most of every moment, surrounding himself with family and friends and creating lasting memories we will cherish.

Tony was born in Cincinnati, OH on January 21, 1956 to the late Daniel and Loretta (nee: Horn) Mazzaro. Family was important to Tony and he thrived in spending time with them. He was a devoted father to Anthony (Julie) Mazzaro, Amy (David) Combs, Ann (Mike) Loch, and Alex (Bre Frandsen) Mazzaro. He loved to regale friends and strangers alike with the story of how he raised four children, all in diapers at the same time, on his own, while we rolled our eyes at his antics.

Tony was a loving Grandpa to Bryan, Dominic, Eleanor, Grayson, Allison, Ryan, Andrew, Bryson, Amelia, Brandon, and Luka. He loved to have his photo taken with his grandchildren and would proudly show and display them for all to see. He celebrated each grandchild's accomplishment as if it were his own, and would happily babysit as long as it involved television and food.

Working was merely a means to survive for Tony, and to have funds in which to spend traveling, treating family and friends to activities and meals out, and bribing his grandchildren to give him back scratches. He spent time in roles of public service and sales, and even returned back to work as a security guard after a brief retirement.

Tony was a cherished member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church where he spent many years singing in the choir and participating in various activities. His singing was adored by his grandchildren, and he would invent rhymes and songs for them while visiting. Every grandchild was lifted onto his head unceremoniously as he sang, "I'm wearing my (insert name) hat, what do you think about that?!" This never-ending song delighted the children and simultaneously drove the adults crazy.

Tony was preceded in death by his brother Dan Mazzaro and nephew Matt Mazzaro. Tony is survived by his brothers Steve (Julie Dock) Mazzaro and Gary (Robbin) Mazzaro, sister Sandra (Tony) Ihle, sister-in-law Jeanette Mazzaro, his great friends Jim McDonald, Dave Willig, and Rich Faillace, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Gathering of friends and family will be held at Radel Funeral home located at ADDRESS, from 3-5pm on Sunday, July 19. Mass will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, ADDRESS, at 11am on Monday July 20.
