Sandra Kay Gay

Sandra Kay Gay passed away suddenly on Monday, July 12, 2021, at the age of 70. Sandy was born in Cincinnati, OH and was a graduate of Oak Hills High School and the College of Mount St. Joseph. She is survived by her parents Don Childs and Billie Sue Childs, her brothers Steve and Mike Childs. She is also survived by her children Greg & Ali Maier and Beth Deupree & David Fabian, along with her grandchildren Ryan Maier, Carter & Remi Deupree and Owen, Renee, Jacob and Grace Fabian. In addition to family, she is survived by the true love of her life, her fabulous shoe collection!

To know Sandy was to love her. She was a devoted mother, Queenie, daughter, sister, friend and colleague. Sandy spent over three decades of her professional career at Western Hills Retirement Village, operating as the Administrator and mentor to everyone who came through her door. She embraced life with passion and humility, working tirelessly to ensure everyone around her felt loved and supported. Among her countless talents, she was best known for cooking and baking. If you asked for a cookie, you got a dozen, if you asked for an appetizer, she brought three and if she invited you to dinner, you always left with a fully belly and leftovers. In true over-the-top fashion, Sandy’s “mini” Goldendoodle, Maggie, is forecasted to weigh 80 lbs.

Per Sandy’s request, her family is hosting a celebration of life this Saturday, July 17 at Green Township Senior Center in Cincinnati, OH. Sandy wanted a party and a party we will have! In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her name to the SPCA.
