On Monday, January 25, 2021, Robert “Bob”, “Bobby”, “Bookie” Paul Bookwalter passed away peacefully at the age of 69. Bob was born on October 2, 1951 in Dayton, OH to Benjamin Bookwalter and Vera (Lefeld) Bollheimer. He was a devoted father of two children, Maria Keyes (Stephen) and Ryan Bookwalter (Maria). He was a loving and dedicated Papaw of Gabby Kline, Madeline Keyes, Colton Bookwalter, Jacob Keyes, Cadan Bookwalter and Andrew Keyes. Bob was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Bookwalter, his mother, Vera Bollheimer, his siblings, John Bookwalter, Kathy Ledford, Frankie Pyburn and stepsisters Vickie and Debbie Bollheimer. He is survived by his siblings, Tom Bookwalter (Sarah), Betty Gray (Edward), Mary Adams and stepsister Denise Bollheimer.
To know Bob was to love Bob. He was a one-of-a-kind guy that would do anything to help anyone. He made friends wherever he went, and treasured time spent with his family. Bob was always up for a fun game of golf with family or friends. He had a passion for fishing, especially his yearly trips to Canada. He especially enjoyed teaching his kids and grandkids all things about fishing and reminiscing on his many adventures.
A memorial visitation service and Catholic blessing will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45233. The memorial visitation will be from 4-7pm, immediately followed by a Catholic blessing. A celebration of life event will also be held in the coming weeks, more information will be available soon.
