Lovern J Quast

Lovern J. Quast was born on October 20, 1929, in Watkins, MN, and went to his eternal rest into our Lord’s care on January 23, 2022. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Marge Quast. He is survived by his children Jeannine (the late Robert) Bedel, Michael J. (Pamela) Quast, Bryon Quast, and Philip Quast and beloved brother to Phyllis (Willie) Erickson, and Diane (Frank) Vorlicek. He also had the joy of being the patriarch of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Vern was a proud veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Air Force. After leaving the armed forces, he served the Federal Government in the Federal Agency of the Federal Savings and Loan Examiners division as District Director in Indianapolis, IN.
Vern retired in Destin, FL, where he relished in his passion for golf. After a relentless drive for self-improvement in the game, Vern was awarded the esteemed honor of serving as the President of the East Coast Seniors Golf Association. While serving in this position, Vern and his beloved wife, Margie, traveled the country participating in golf tournaments, created lasting memories, and garnering lasting friendships.
Vern came to comfortably settle in Cincinnati, OH, living independently at Bayley Village. While living at Bayley, Vern continued to faithfully attend weekly Catholic services and lead others in devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Vern was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus.
Special acknowledgements that Vern held so dear are to his daughter-in-law Pamela Quast, caring associate Louise Altineau, St. Rita’s Community of Destin, FL and the entire Bayley Community that he considered his family.
As a poet once said in describing the face of a headstone, “We may forget the date of birth and death, but we will never forget your dash”.
