Larry N Olthaus

Larry Olthaus passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday November 4, 2020 at the age of 73. He endured a courageous but difficult battle against lung cancer for a year. He faced it full force with everything he had and was so brave every step of the way. We will miss him immensely and always remember his love for family, friends, pets, animals, nature, art, comedy, music, cooking, camping, traveling, shopping and so many other things. We have wonderful memories of fun times with him that we will treasure forever. We are blessed to have had him in our lives and know we will see him again in heaven.

An important figure in his family, Larry was husband to his wife Nadine for almost 50 years, father to his son Todd and daughter Lauren, father-in-law to Sharon, and brother to Jim (Albert & Ronnie). A true west sider, Larry graduated from St. Jude and Elder High School. He attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati and the Basel School of Design in Switzerland. Larry worked as a graphic designer starting at Channel 9 and ending at a commercial agency before retiring.

Services will be held at St. Antoninus Church (1500 Linneman Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45238) on Thursday November 12, 2020. Visitation will be in the Gathering Room from 9:30 am - 10:30 am, A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 am, followed by service at New St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate donations in Larry’s name to the Stray Animal Adoption Program https://adoptastray.com/donate or the SPCA of Cincinnati https://www.spcacincinnati.org/donate-now. He loved all animals, especially his beloved rescue dogs Remy, Toby, Riley & Lucy (Cody & Sasha).
