Passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 1, 2022. Born May 28th, 1959 to Alvin and Mariann (Nee: Gindling) Merk. Beloved Husband of Lynne S. Merk (Nee: Preuss). Loving Father of Laura (Keith) Bolger, Jennifer Merk, and Ryan (Aimee) Merk. Cherished and devoted Papa of William, Brooke, Taylor & Finley Bolger, Holden Merk, Carson and Bentley Mathews, and Kevin Jameson (KJ) Merk. Beloved brother of Hank (Michele) Merk, Nancy (Ron) Papania, Denny (Shelia) Merk, Sharon (Randy) Dance, Gary (Robin) Merk, Doug (Missy) Merk, Carole (Tony) Willenborg. Adored uncle to 25 Nieces and Nephews.

Married to his High School sweetheart for 41 Years, but together for 47, there was rarely anything they ever did apart. They loved to travel and spend time with his dear friends. Whether it was “Lake Life”, relaxing in Florida, fishing with the grandkids, weekly get togethers, family Sunday’s or hanging with High School friends, they never missed a party. As an avid sports fan he enjoyed all Cincinnati sports, especially the Reds. He was the most giving, generous and unselfish person with biggest the heart and he always enjoyed life to fullest.

President and CEO of Jones Machinery for 30 years. During his tenure, through his leadership and vision, he expanded and grew the company to be one of the top machine tool distributers in the Mid-West. From employees, to customers, to manufacturers, he was loved by all and treated everyone like family.

His wife and family were always his #1. One of his favorite past times, which he considered a hobby, was spending time with his grandkids. He was looking forward to retirement come January 1, unfortunately he was taken too soon.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9th from 5pm until 8pm at the Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Rd. 45233. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday December 10th at 11am held at St. Simon Church, 825 Pontius Rd. 45233.
