Wolfe
James Alan was born on May 30, 1946 in Chebanse, IL. Passed away on August 16, 2023 at the age of 77 years. Loving father of Tricia Jarvis, Dublin, Ohio and Laura (Jim) Corbin, Cleves, Ohio. Cherished grandfather of Kyle Wolfe, Luke Jarvis, Ellie Jarvis and Chloe Jarvis. Dear brother of Ben (Donna) Wolfe, Todd Wolfe, Connie Wolfe and sister in law of Cecile Wolfe. Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Virgil “Bode” Wolfe and Eva “Venita” Wolfe, his brother Richard “Dick” Wolfe and lifelong friend Leston “Les” Wright.
Jim was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He enjoyed a career in the transportation industry starting at Katy Railroad and retiring from Ram Nationwide.
Jim was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed PGA golf, the Cincinnati Reds, the Chicago Cubs and the Cincinnati Bengals. He also loved coaching his daughters’ soccer, basketball and softball teams.
Friendships were very important to Jim. He enjoyed playing softball, golf outings with friends, and Saturday morning breakfasts with the guys. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, even shoveling a neighbor’s driveway while suffering from congestive heart failure. He was blessed with lifelong friends who supported him generously. He was appreciative of their visits, chocolate malts, and outings!
Jim was a proud father and grandfather. He enjoyed traveling with Laura, Jim and Kyle, as long as it did not involve bridges. He had an extreme fear of heights! He enjoyed the Memorial Tournament with Tricia. He attended as many sporting events and dance recitals of his grandchildren as he could and was always boasting of their accomplishments.
Tricia and Laura would like to thank his donor family, University of Cincinnati Advanced Heart Failure, the doctors, nurses and PCAs of UC Medical Center CIVCU. Although he never experienced the quality of life he hoped for and was unable to golf again, he celebrated many family birthdays, graduations and reunions.
We would also like to thank the employees of Bayley Place for their loving care for the last 3 years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jim’s honor to Bayley Place 990 Bayley Drive Cincinnati, OH 45233, Honor Flight Network www.honorflight.org, or Wolf Creek Habitat 14099 Wolf Creek Road Brookville, IN 47012.
Burial will be Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 10:00am CST at Evergreen Cemetery Chebanse, IL 60922, coffee and donuts following at the American Legion Park Shelter.
