Dennis Joseph Barket

Dennis “Denny” Joseph Barket, Sr. died on February 2, 2021 while resting peacefully and with family. He leaves his beloved wife, Sharon P. (Spencer) Barket, brother Steven A. Barket, son Dennis J. Barket, Jr. and wife Donna MK (Krawczyk) Barket, son Kevin J. Barket, and daughter Amy D. (Barket) Kampel and husband Zachary Kampel and grandsons Aaron J. Barket, Solomon J. Barket, Connor J. Barket, Eli. Z. Kampel and Leo Z. Kampel, as well as, nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father Alexander J. Barket, mother Mary E. (Meader) Barket, and sister, Rosemary (Barket) Mitterholzer.
Mr. Barket was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and lived most of his life in and around Cincinnati, Ohio with a 10 year stay in Tell City, Indiana. He was a graduate of Oak Hills High School (class president) and the University of Cincinnati’s School of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning (DAAP). Dennis had a lifelong interest in product design, visual arts, and woodworking. During his career he was employed by Baldwin Piano Company, Woodcrafters, and Art Woodworking and Manufacturing Co.
Creative, stubborn, irascible, resourceful, helpful, supportive, maddening, proud and loving are all appropriate descriptions of Dennis. His hobbies included fishing, watching and re-watching favorite TV shows and movies, weekend games of chance, and building unique furniture pieces. His real passion was following the activities, accomplishments, and sporting events of his five grandchildren. There was nothing that made him more proud than a well played game by a grandchild.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please leave memories and condolences at www.radelfuneral.com. Memorial contributions may be made to the Melanoma Research Alliance or Hospice of Cincinnati.
