Daniel A. Morgan

Daniel A. Morgan, 68, passed away on October 10, 2021 after a courageous 8 year battle with cancer. Dan was a devoted husband of 47 years to Sandra (nee Schmolt) Morgan. He was a loving father to Robert Morgan, Amanda (Giovanni) Bonita, Megan Morgan and Rebecca Morgan. He was a proud grandfather to Cameron Macke; Gabriella, Gio, and Siena Bonita. He was the beloved son of the late Earl and Marion Morgan and son-in-law of the late Robert “Emmy” and Rella Schmolt. A dear brother of Patrick (Donna) Morgan, Teresa Morgan, Deborah (Jeff) Gossett, Timothy Morgan, and the late Robert Morgan. A dear brother-in-law to Sharon Dilg and the late Don Dilg. He is survived by nieces and nephews: Brian (Anne) Solomon, Joey Solomon; Matthew (Chrissi) Gossett, Aaron (Chantelle) Gossett, Elizabeth (Mike) Weide, Sarah (Rick) Stone, Stephanie (Jack) Volker, Emily (Mark) Bayer. He is a Great-Uncle to many great-nieces and nephews.
Dan was born on January 3, 1953. He was a proud Elder High School graduate, class of 1971. He went on to work for his father starting at the young age of 13 and eventually took over the family business, Morgan’s Autobody, which was a successful business on the westside of town for over 60 years. He truly loved his work and was proud of the business he built. He loved cars, especially his white 1965 Chevrolet Supersport.
Dan had a fierce love for his friends; he had many and made new ones everywhere he went. He loved camping with his wife and friends, which is where Dan made some of his greatest memories. He loved sitting on his back deck with his wife, family, and friends, listening to music and the Reds baseball games. He loved a good party and if asked, would break-out his accordion and play a few songs, especially on Christmas. His favorite outfit was a tweed jacket, jeans, and white gym shoes and his family joked that was the outfit he would be buried wearing. Not only did he love his kids, but he loved their friends as if they were his own and several became his extended family. He loved his grandchildren, especially “Cam”, who was like a son to him.
Even after his cancer diagnosis in 2013, Dan remained hopeful and fought to stay with his wife, family, and friends. It was his hope and love for life that allowed him to outlive his diagnosis by several years. Dan had so many funny quotes and his kids will never forget their favorite bedtime quote, “I’ll see you in the movies”. And his wife will forever remember, “I love ya more than I love my luggage”.
