As strong as she was quiet, she would defend her family against the strongest opponent This was our Mom/Mammaw. She wore the titles proudly and made no secret of the love she had for her children and family. She weathered many storms and suffered great losses, and while her heart was breaking she still grieved with grace and gratitude, never questioning God's will and still giving him the Glory. She loved going to church and her church family. She did not send her children to church, she took us. Even as age brought challenges and changes, she accepted them all without complaint. Her only demands were gentle requests to hold her hand or ask you if you could stay awhile. She did not want to eat unless everyone in the room had eaten. She would offer you her blanket even if she herself were cold, always putting others comforts above her own. If you brought her something as simple as a cup of coffee, she would thank you as graciously as if you had given her a great gift. Even little children gravitated towards her because they could sense her sweet gentle spirit. Anyone in her presence was wrapped in her love. Like a soft warm blanket, you just felt it. One of God's most faithful servants, the Matriarch of our family, her love transcends time, distance and generations. Her legacy stretches far beyond her children. To know her was to know love itself, and the purest of hearts. While we weep for her loss, may we also celebrate her long righteous life and let it stand as a testament and example of her character and of how perfectly a life can be led. We love you Mom/Mammaw and thou shall NEVER be another such as you.

"Gentle as the sweet Magnolia
Strong as steel, her faith and pride
She's an everlasting shoulder
She's the leaning post of life
She hurts deep, and when she weeps
She's just as fragile as a child
And she's a sparrow when she's broken
But she's an eagle when she flies"
We love you Forever
